In 1633, after months of suffering and death from the plague, the people of Oberammergau swore an oath that they would depict the last five days in the life of Jesus Christ in the performance of the "Play of the Suffering, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ“.  Only once every 10 years, more than 2,000 Oberammergauers bring to the stage those events Christianity regards as its central source of life and hope.

Board your plane for your overnight flights to Munich.

 

 

(Sat) Sept 18: ARRIVE MUNICH/SALZBURG
Upon arrival in Munich, meet your coach and drive to Salzburg for dinner and overnight. (D)

 

 

(Sun) Sept 19: SALZBURG/PASSAU/MV MOZART
This morning enjoy a walking tour of Salzburg, including the Old Town, Trick Chapel in the Cardinal’s Palace, and the Chapel from the Sound of Music. Transfer to Passau to board the 5* MV Mozart, your home for the next 7 nights. Sail at 7:00pm.  (B,D)

 

 

(Mon) Sept 20: DURNSTEIN/VIENNA
This morning arrive in Durnstein at 9:30am.  Enjoy an optional walking tour, or relax onboard. Set sail at 12:30pm to Vienna, arriving at 5:30pm. (B,L,D)

 

 

 

(Tue) Sept 21: VIENNA
A full day today in Vienna to explore on your own, or choose from a variety of optional shore excursions, such as Schonbrunn Palace, or even a cycling tour!  Set sail at 7:00pm.  (B,L,D)

 

 

(Wed) Sept 22: ESZTERGOM/BUDAPEST
A short stop this morning in Esztergom (8:00am-10:30am) for those interested in an optional shore excursion of the Danube Bend and Szentendre.  Arrive at 2:00pm this afternoon in Budapest. (B,L,D)

 

 

(Thurs) Sept 23: BUDAPEST
Enjoy a full day in Budapest for independent activities or an optional city tour. Depart at 4:30pm.  (B,L,D)

 

 

(Fri) Sept 24: BRATISLAVA
Arrive this morning at 9:30am in Bratislava.  Relax on your own, or take an optional city walk with Primate’s Palace. Set sail at 2:00pm. (B,L,D)

 

 

(Sat) Sept 25: MELK (GREIN)
9:00am arrival in Melk, where an optional excursion to the scenic Abbey will be offered. Depart Melk 1:00pm. (B,L,D)

 

 

(Sun) Sept 26: PASSAU/MUNICH
Say farewell to your ship as you disembark at Passau, and board your coach to Munich, where tonight we will enjoy the world-famous Oktoberfest!  (B,D)

 

 

(Mon) Sept 27: OBERAMMERGAU AREA
This morning we visit one of Ludwig’s Castles enroute to our Oberammergau area hotel for dinner and overnight.  (B,L,D)

 

 

 

(Tues) Sept 28: OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY
Enjoy the morning free in Oberammergau for shopping or simply to stroll the beautiful town.  The Passion Play begins in the afternoon and lasts until evening, with an included dinner break. (B,D)

Transfer this morning to Munich airport for your return flights home. (B)

About the 5* MV Mozart

MV Mozart is one of the most luxurious river vessels in the world, resplendent with polished rosewood and original art.. All cabins are beautifully appointed, with marble bath rooms equipped with hairdryer and terry robes on request. Bedding is European style duvets with feather pillows (synthetic materials available on req.) Meals are single seating with evening meals up to nine courses on selected nights. There is a lounge, 2 bars, gift shop, beauty salon, library, safe-deposit boxes, and infirmary with a doctor on board. Captain's Welcome & Farewell Receptions are provided as well as nightly entertainment and dancing. There is one crew member for every 2.5 passengers, allowing for an extremely high level of service.

VALID PASSPORT IS REQUIRED
It is required that your passport be valid for at least six months from the date of your departure. At time of printing,  visa is not required for US passport holders.  A visa may be required for non-USA citizens.  You are responsible to have all documents in order.  C-tours will not be held responsible for insufficient travel documents.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITY
C-tours, inc. is not responsible for any personal injury, damage, loss, accident, or delay due to any act, negligence or default of the tour guide, or any company or person engaged in transporting the passengers, or rendering any service, or carrying out the arrangements for any tour, or their agents, servants, and employees.

 

 

CANCELLATION POLICY
Because we have chartered part of the mv Mozart, the cancellation fees are much stricter than normal.  Payments are non-refundable unless a substitute is found to take your place. 

In the event you find a substitute, there will be an administration charge of  $75 for cancellations received in writing up to 91 days prior to departure.  After that period, additional cancellation fees of the balance are as follows:

TARIFF & CURRENCY FLUCTUATIONS
Our price is quoted in U.S. Dollars and is based on current tariffs, taxes, and exchange levels.  Rates are subject to adjustments only in the event of sharp fluctuations in exchange rates, increases and/or additional fuel or security surcharges.  If a roommate is not available, you will be billed the single supplement cost. (Singles are limited and not uaranteed)  Rate is based on a minimum group size of 20 participants.

 

 

INSURANCE
A detailed trip cancellation brochure will be sent to you upon receipt of your deposit.   Insurance must be purchased within 21 days of your initial deposit in order to qualify for the pre-existing conditions waiver.  Insurance is highly recommended.
