Our Church: Interior
11/2004

A closer look at some of the items in the interior of our new Church.

The four Evangelists appear in the balcony area in the gathering space above the foyer.  From left to right are:  Matthew, Mark...

...Luke, and John.  These were received from Mount Carmel Parish in Ware (which was closed and demolished a few years ago).

Refurbished crucifix from the Passionist Monastery in West Springfield.

Sanctuary Lamp from St. Adalbert's Parish on the Belchertown and Bondsville town line.

Altar area showing marble altar received from the Sisters of the Good Shepard following the closing of their facility on Tinkham Road in Springfield.

Station of the Cross from the Sisters of the Good Shepard, mounted on a new backing.  The stations appear throughout the sanctuary, along with the statue of the Holy Family and St. Francis (from our previous church).

Ambo featuring tables of St. Peter and St. Paul received as gifts from the Sisters of Providence in Holyoke.  They are framed in the marble that once was the communion rails that accompanied the altar from the Sisters of the Good Shepard Chapel.

Statues of St. Joseph and the Blessed Mother (from the Sisters of the Good Shepard) mounted on the wall of the sanctuary.

Altar in the Daily Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.

Tabernacle in the Daily Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.

The Holy Family (corner of the Daily Eucharistic Adoration Chapel).

Crucifix from our previous church hanging in the Daily Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.

Our Blessed Mother (in the Daily Eucharistic Adoration Chapel) from our previous Church (originated from the Marian Shrine at Medjugorje).

One of the two tables in the gathering appear (between the doors leading into the sanctuary).

Holy Face of Jesus stained glass window in the Daily Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.

Children's Holy Spirit window that appears above the altar.  This 12-foot diameter window was influenced by our patron St. Francis of Assisi's passage of the "Canticle of the Sun."
