Pastoral Council Communications Commission Minutes

October 5, 2006

Elected Council Members:  Dick Martin and Debbie Fish
Commission Members: Dave Adams, Jeanne Brzycki, Ray Fontaine, Steve Forrest, Martha Lofland, Therese Laporte and Anna Donovan (Scribe) - Absent: Jeanne

1) November Calendar - Dave submitted next month's calendar for review. Important November events include the three All Saints' Day Masses, the Christmas Bazaar on 11/4, and the second Session of Generations of Faith on 11/18 and 19.  Also the Food Pantry Thanksgiving distribution will be on 11/19 with the Thanksgiving Day Mass on 9:00 a.m.

2) Posters - Thanks to Therese Laporte for her beautiful painting of St. Francis of Assisi which was enjoyed by all.  Ray checked the necessary posters for November.

3) Pastoral Council List - Ray distributed the new 06-07 list.

4) Welcome Packets - Anna to check the thirteen-page Information Section to make sure no changes are necessary.  Also, need to have the Faith Formation information updated.  As in previous years a completed Welcome Packet will be shown to the Pastoral Council and copies of the 06-07 Brochure will be given to all members at the next meeting.

5) Brochure - All the changes that were discussed last month were made and were checked once more for any errors.  Discussed whether new graphics should be incorporated into the brochure.  Dave volunteered to help with that possibility.  Anna will finish and have copies made for the Welcome Packets.

6) Other:  Steve and Deb shared some information from the Tuesday Pastoral Council Meeting especially about the Crop Walk, Book Group, Generations of Faith and the Bereavement Group.

Next meeting:  Thursday, November 9, 2006, 7:30pm at Dick Martin's house.
