Pastoral Council Communications Commission Minutes

June 7, 2007

Elected Council Members: Debbie Fish and newly elected Bill Bowen
Commission Members: Dave Adams, Jeanne Brzycki, Ray Fontaine, Steve Forrest, Martha Lofland, Therese Laporte, Anna Donovan (Scribe)

At the beginning of meeting a bag of chocolate kisses was presented to Dick and Marie for their kindness in allowing the Communications Commission members to use their lovely kitchen as a meeting place. Also, we thank Dick for his three-year tenure on the Council.

July Activity Calendar ­ some regular meetings will take place even though it is summer, especially two Tag Sale Meetings. On July 23 there will be a Healing and Reconciliation Service with Father McAlear.

Posters ­ Ray will do poster for the Healing Service.

Nomination and Election Process for the Pastoral Council ­ a mini feedback/evaluation took place. Everyone was of the opinion that everything seemed to go well without too many complaints.

Tentative plans regarding the Duties and Responsibilities of members for the coming year took place but final decisions will be made when Bill Bowen is present in September (Bill unfortunately was unable to attend the meeting due to a previously scheduled engagement):

Brochure, Welcome Packets, Time & Talent pamphlet and monthly information of PC meetings to be written for the bulletin­ to be determined.

A decision made at the Tuesday Pastoral Council meeting stated that the Chair of the Communications Commission will now be the new point person to decide if a second ‘stuffing’ into the church bulletin will be allowed.

Time & Talent Pamphlet - Discussion took place regarding the changes that needed to be done. It was decided that copies be made and a meeting take place of Communication members in order to review, etc., and then be ready to discuss with Pastoral Council in September and ask for input.

On September 4, 2007 a Pastoral Council Inaugural Retreat and Volunteer Mass will take place
