Pastoral Council Communications Commission Minutes

June 8, 2006

Elected Council Members:  Dick Martin and Debbie Fish
Commission Members: Dave Adams, Jeanne Brzycki, Ray Fontaine, Steve Forrest, Martha Lofland and Anna Donovan (Scribe)

1) July Calendar - There was not much to discuss regarding upcoming parish events for the month of July.  We hope everyone who has given of their time and talent during the past fall and spring will enjoy the leisure summer months.

2) Special Posters - We welcomed Therese Laporte to our meeting.  She has graciously volunteered to begin painting some special posters for our parishioners to enjoy.  Her first poster will be one which will depict our Patron Saint, St. Francis,  and will be ready for his feast day October 4th. Other possible special posters discussed were ones for Christmas and Easter.

3) Welcome Packets - Martha reported that she had four complete packets except for the Time and Talent pamphlet.  After some discussion, it was decided to make more copies of the same T&T pamphlet for the packets and not make any changes at this time.  We will re-evaluate in a year.

4) New Discussion Book Club - Steve reported that plans are that it will begin in fall '06 and continue until summer '07.  He said that he will make up a flyer announcing the titles of the books, etc., Dave will make the copies and then they will be put into the church bulletin.

5) Member Responsibilities - Committee members' major responsibilities for the upcoming 2006-07 year were decided and will begin in September, as follows:

* Monthly Calendar - Dave Adams
* Brochure - Anna Donovan and Steve Forrest
* Posters - Ray Fontaine and special painted posters by Therese Laporte
* Welcome Packets - Martha Lofland and Anna Donovan
* Parish Web Site and Deanery Representative - Jeanne Brzycki
* Nomination and Election Process - Debbie Fish with Jeanne assisting with transition
* Communication Board - Ray Fontaine and Dick Martin
* Meeting Place and Refreshments - Dick Martin

6)  It was decided not to meet in July or August.

Next meeting: Thursday, September 7, 2006, 7:30pm at Dick Martin's house.
