Pastoral Council Communications Commission Minutes

May 3, 2007

Elected Council Members:  Dick Martin and Debbie Fish
Commission Members: Dave Adams, Jeanne Brzycki, Ray Fontaine, Steve Forrest, Martha Lofland, Therese Laporte, and Anna Donovan (Scribe)

1) June Activity Calendar - much less activity in June.  The Pastoral Elections will take place on June 2 and 3.  Parish Picnic is scheduled for June 3 following the 10:30 Mass.

2) Posters - Ray noted the events which will need posters.

3) Welcome Packets - Information in the brochure will be changed in September. Regarding the Time and Talent pamphlet -- a discussion about necessary changes took place and a decision made that it should be put on the June's Pastoral Council agenda.  We need input about what should be changed/added and what should be deleted because some items are obsolete.  Also, the decision needs to be made if, after it is updated, whether or not it should be given out to all parishioners in the fall.  Deb volunteered to get this on the PC agenda.

4) Nomination and Election Process for the Pastoral Council - Deb submitted nomination facts to be inserted on the Nominees Sheet - stuffing of this sheet into the bulletin will take place before the 4:00 pm Mass on May 12 (Anna, Martha and Ray to do this).
Members responsible for handing out the election ballots on June 2 and 3 are as follows:
4:00pm - Anna and Steve
8:00am - Ray and Martha
10:30am - Dave, Deb and Therese

After 10:30 Mass, Jeanne and Anna will check pews for any forgotten ballots, pencils, etc. They will count the ballots, notify winners, congratulate them and ask them to attend the transitional meeting on June 5 at 7:30 pm in the Meeting Room of the church.  They will also call the non-elected nominees, thank them for their interest and encourage those interested to serve as a Commission member -  all Commissions can use help.  Jeanne/Anna to email the results of the elections to Fr. Vern and PC Chair, Steve Forrest for the Tuesday meeting.
