Pastoral Council Communications Commission Minutes

April 12, 2007

Elected Council Members:  Dick Martin and Debbie Fish
Commission Members: Dave Adams, Jeanne Brzycki, Ray Fontaine, Steve Forrest, Martha Lofland, Therese Laporte, and Anna Donovan (Scribe)

1) May Calendar - the many events for May were reviewed and checked for correct dates and times, especially the four First Communion rehearsals and the three First Communion ceremonies.  Also, Confirmation will take place on May 26. The feast of the Ascension is on May 17 with three scheduled Masses. Pentecost is on May 27 and everyone is encouraged to wear Red in honor of this special Sunday.  May 24 is Father Vern's 32nd Ordination Anniversary...we wish him God's choicest blessings and thank him for his continued devotion to the St. Francis family.

2) Posters - Ray noted the events which will need posters.

3) Welcome Packets - Martha reported that the packets are going fast.  She has enough material for 16 more packets but is out of the Time & Talent pamphlet.

4) Nomination and Election Process for the Pastoral Council - 150 copies of the Nomination ballot will be Xeroxed and then cut in half.  Anna to check to make sure the pencils are still in the Meeting Room.  Also, she will set up a table for the pencils, extra ballots and have a basket available for parishioners to put their completed ballots in if they did not put them into the collection baskets.  Jeanne to contact Fr. Vern and make sure he is ok with the plans. At the Masses of April 21/22 the Nomination Ballots will be handed out by the following members:
4:00pm - Anna
8:00am - Ray and Martha
10:30am - Dave, Deb and Therese
Clean up needs to take place after each Mass because pencils and ballots are left in the pews. Deb and Jeanne are responsible for collecting all the ballots and organizing the rest.  At the May 3rd meeting the rest of the planning of the election process will take place.

5)  Other - Discussion took place about the possibility of selling a DVD of the Parish Mission which was held in March.  It was agreed that Anna should send an email to be published in the Weekly Bulletin asking about parishioner interest and requesting those interested to please sign their names on a sign-up sheet to be placed in the Gathering Space.  Ray will be responsible for the poster.
